We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the boat transportation to the island. As stated here many times by others, the private island is terrific.
We would both definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going there. My wife and I just got back yesterday from a 5 night stay at the Renaissance Marina in Aruba. We also did a deepsea fishing trip, the chef preparded us a special meal, thanks to Scandals for making us all feel special. Not to expensive, very friendly, perfect service. We also ate several times at a place by the marina called Scandals. I highly recommend this suite if you have the extra bucks. We did later check out the ambassador suite. Check out there happy hour two drinks for price of one from four to six. The hotel is in the center of everything, we would defenity want to stay here again. It was just fine, It was a normal regular room with a king size bed.The private island they talk about was great, We all had massages on the island, walked the trails and ate lunch at their cafe.
Upon check in they said they had us in a standard room which scared us all, because we booked the package threw All, But for $200.00 more per night we could get the Ambassador suite. We went with another couple, and stayed at the marina resort. The Renaissiance Resort has one hotel on the ocean for familys, and one right off the ocean for couples called the Marina hotel.
